Catfish

Bringing the issue from nowhere is a hard work. Attacking a well constructed castle is harder than protecting it. Throughout the history, the hierarchies tried to hide their flows for their own profit while the lower class workers tried to find it and publicize it. In modern class, social networking services(SNS) such as facebook or twitter has became a modern trend and the ruling trend. A lot of wired people have an account in several SNS services and spend a lot of time in it. In this phenomenon, as more people use the SNS services, more side effects happened. For example, the youtube clip I posted shows the suicide of a female reporter because of her writing in a SNS and attack from people online. However, the side effects of SNS services have been blinded to us because of our own will not to get bothered from the dangers while enjoying it and the power from SNS services to stop broadcasting the side effects. In this social status, I believe that Catfish made a great success to bring people to know the side effects of social networking services.

Catfish showed that cheating ones identity in SNS such as facebook is very easy. This is also shown in KMLA society that people make identifications such as our dorm parents and our school. Some critics say that Catfish can give some misunderstandings on SNS. However, I believe that Catfish is a good movie in the fact that it gives warnings to people on the side effects. Without knowing the problems of a service, using it will only bring bad use in less efficiency.

1. THB Catfish does more harms than goods
2. THB facebook should be regulated by countries in making accounts
3. THB Ciber dating is better than real dating

US is a hero

Heroes protect people while bullies harass people. Police protects people's rights and safety while criminals harm people's rights and safety. However, the difference in heroes and bullies, police and the criminal is only one thing, the boundary of defining their rights. US is definitely the strongest country in the world. It spends the most money on Army than other countries and has the best technologies. However, being strong doesn't mean that it can be the police of the world. US is currently acting as a mean bully not a hero of the world by two reasons.

US does not act fair. In international matters, international laws and the country's law related to the affair is the most important and prior law and it must be fulfilled. However, US has been keep disobeying the international law and kept on playing on their own advantage. For example, when assassinating Bin laden, the US did not tell the Pakistan government about the mission and did not give Bin laden chance of getting trial in the court. Moreover, US buried toxic chemicals in Korea without any permission or inform to the Korean government. This shows that US is not acting fair but only for their profit which cannot be justified.

It performs in radical and violent ways. When having the power to make contracts and profit in peaceful ways, US uses radical and violent ways which can give them worse side effects in order to gain more profit such as the approval rate of the government. For example, when handling the drug problem in US, when it has the power and money capable of solving the problem in Dutch way which is focused on solving the addiction of the citizen and breaking the market price, US attacks the drug farms which is in other countries. This deepened the problem of drugs in US by more demand but less supply which raised the market price.

A country is selfish. It must be selfish in order to give their citizen profit. However, the competition between countries must be fair and be done in peaceful way. US is a strong and selfish country which gives profit to its country. However, in international view, US is only a country which tries to rule other country with its own power. There is a proverb that still water runs deep. US should act fairly and peacefully to achieve their goals.

1. THB country can do anything for their own good
2. THB US must act as international police
3. THB US armed force in Korea should be reduced

religion

I was born in a Buddhism family. From my early age, I had to go to temple with my family. However, unlike Churches, temples in Korea didn't teach me anything about Buddha but gave me ideas that temple foods are delicious. At the beginning of middle school, I had chance to read books of Richard Dawkins. The fact that I didn't know anything about Buddha made me not to have resistance in facing the ideas of Dawkins but gave me a lot of inspiration. I am an atheist. I believe that religion is one of the evils in the human society by two reasons.

Firstly, religion itself essentially makes conflicts. Humans are social animal and they tend to give and express their ideas to others. The teachings that religions give are fundamentally same but grew differently by adapting to the society. However, people tend to ignore that fact but just believes that their religion is the truth. For example, Christianity in Korea makes a lot of conflicts with other religions such as going to temples and giving Christian prays and destroying statues of Buddha. This can be seen as the conflicts made essentially by religion.

Moreover, religion makes people irrational. human are animals with both emotion and intellect. The harmony between emotion and intellect is one of the most important tasks that people have within their lives. However, beliefs in religion makes people to follow the ideas that can also make them radical in ideas that oppose to the religion and makes them narrow sighted. I post a clip that shows how people act in churches of Korea.

Although this is only a part of Christianity, we can see that people become more emotional without rationality. Also, this makes people to follow their religious leaders not the ideas of the religion. For example, in Korea, there is a minister Jo Yong Gi. He has his birthday party in World cup stadium and has billions of money. He is also famous for his words such as tsunami in Japan is because Japanese does not believe Christian God. Rational people would criticize him for his words and acts. However, Christians in that church worships him and prays for him. This can be seen that religion makes people emotional.

The ideas of religion are pure and should be highly valued. However, when it is shown in religion, it cannot be truly valued by people but loses its value and be shown in radical and irrational acts. Thereby, I believe that religion itself currently is evil of the human society and should be changed.

30days in girls only school

Boys don't know girls and girls don't know boys. The difference between men and women are so extreme that we say men and women are from different planet. For example, there is psychological researches that females feel the emotion while males focus on the action itself.

As time goes and society becomes more complicated, the role of individual sex has became  vague which made the need of interacting with other sex inevitable and important. However, the reality in Korea is that teenagers cannot interact much with other sex in the early age that understanding other sex has became hard and made more conflicts between males and females. Therefore, after seeing the 30days series, I believe 30days in other sexes only school will make teenagers in Korea to understand other sex more by two reasons.

Firstly, one's personality and point of view is mostly made at teen. Therefore, lack of experience of other sex will make lack of understanding and communication in the society. Therefore, to know and understand other sex, 30days in other sex's school is a must in Korean society.

Moreover, communicating with other sex has became essential in modern society. In the middle age, the role of each sex was very different. However, in modern society, as women's rights enhanced and less physical stresses in industries due to technological advance made sexual difference in work vague. Therefore, the chance of working with different sex is now usual and common in modern society which made communication skills and manners important.

Therefore, as a new 30days program, I believe 30days in girls only school is essential in Korean society.

creativity

Be creative, think what others have never thought about. So easy to say and so much people say that in every day routine. Is that easy? while, I don't think so. Then, is creativity the key factor to make the world a happier place? I'm not positive about it too. I can understand what Sir Ken Robinson believes, but the world is not so easy.

First, creativity is not raised so easily. It is raised after deep thinking and a lot of conversations and debates with others which education helps. Also, not everyone can have creativity and thus needs education to support the creativity to develop and be activated. Killing education to save creativity is too radical and has so much risk that modern society cannot and should not face. For example, there is a saying that when there are 10 photographers, 6 cannot barely feed themselves, 3 can never save their money and only 1 can succeed and the reason is how much they are born with it. In this saying, we can see that creativity cannot be the answer for every people but only for some.

Moreover, creativity is not always the answer to the world. As in Korean proverb, traditions are one of the key knowledge and the source of the world to work. creativeness in society is  ideal and can change the world positively but can also make serious problems because of lack of experience. Also, because of its originality, creativeness may not fit well to the society. For example, Lady Gaga's fashion is creative and original. However, can we adjust it into the whole society? I guess not.

Therefore, killing education to save creativity is to ideal and radical.

1. THB that education should focus on the gifted ones rather than the whole
2. THB that creativity should be the key factor for employing workers.
3. THB that following the tradition is more important than change in most aspect in the society

Michael Moore

It's a common sense that the press should be free from any organization and should only tell the truth without any influence from outside. However, in schools, student newspapers are getting interference from the teachers, even in KMLA, which the goal of school is to develop future leaders.

In the article, Michael Moore is saying that students should make their own newspaper without the interference from teachers. I agree to Moore's idea because students are capable enough to express their own expressions without any interfere from adults. For example, few years ago, two students in New Zealand won a suit against a medical company by insisting that the companies health product didn't have any vitamins in it which the company advertised that it had it. Therefore, this incident shows that students are capable to express their emotion and has the ability to criticize adults logically.

Possible motions

1. THB there should be regulation for student's political acts
2. THB teenagers have the right to vote
3. THB students should be differentiated in laws to adults
